Skoda looks to the Mini for Fabia body kit
Expect to see some Mini-inspired styling cues on Skoda's new Fabia, taken from this concept car unveiled today at the Geneva show. Tucked in a corner alongside a rally car concept, the funked-up Fabia had a silver roof and door mirror caps; although not yet officially confirmed for production, officials reckon the new look will make it to showrooms, unlike a Fabia Scout faux-by-four, which was ruled out. The Fabia goes on sale in May for around £8000.
Ferrari Race Day Silverstone
After an absence of 5 years Silverstone is hosting Ferrari Racing days this September, including a Guinness World Record attempt. The last time there were Ferrari Racing days at Silverstone was 2007, so Ferrari fans will be delighted to learn that Ferrari are back at Silverstone in September for all kinds of Maranello goodness. There’ll be the chance to see a host of on-track stuff including F1 Clienti, FXX, 599XX, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli and the Ferrari Club Challenge – the only place in Europe you’ll be able to see all that in Europe this year.
Ford Focus ST & Fiesta ST (pictured) get Mountune power upgrades
There’a a big after-market for tuning cars to deliver more power without wrecking economy or reliability, so it makes sense for car makers to get in on the act if they can. So Ford have teamed up again with Mountune (just as they did a few years ago to offer you 345bhp in your Focus RS) to offer performance upgrades for both the latest Focus ST and the Fiesta ST. The tuning package for the Focus ST boosts power to 271bhp – up from the stock power of 246bhp – and the 0-62mph time drops to under 6 seconds, half a second quicker than the normally tuned car.
